Our first date was July 4th and we were married on November 16th. So far we've survived a little over 3 years and 2 kids and we're going strong. I don't think we're overly optimistic; we just take it one day at a time. For us, it helped that we've both been married before, although statistically, the odds are higher you'll divorce twice if you've divorced once. Anyway, congrats on being in a strong and committed relationship. I feel one of the best gifts you can give your children is their first example of a healthy relationship.
