Sorry, Jen. Awzy is like a stomach flu. We're all passing him around right now.

Even though he PROMISED he was posting for the last time on my blog (see above), he lied. He has continued to come back and spew irrational hate messages, which I have been deleting. He's the only poster I have ever deleted.

Hey, I posted here for the first time yesterday and got my very own Awzy comment on my blog for being "mentally challenged." Oh dear. Well I let him know that God, in Her infinite wisdom, still loves him. ;-)

I just got blasted on my moral character by a christian with no insight on his part. I just let him no I won't bother to elaborate with that kind of prejudice mindset. Christians that think they have a notch up on morality are annoying.

Kevin- No need to ask permission to put a link to my blog! At some point I need to get on the ball and update my own blogroll.

I deleted one comment from Awzy because it was pure taunting. It's too bad he can't have a constructive conversation.

Hey, I also got a comment on my blog from good 'ol Awzy (aka Greg). Quite a silly comment too, about the devil tricking me and all that. But I see that Ron has mentioned that already.

By the way, can I put a link on my site to your blog? I think that those who visit my blog will be interested to read your articles.

Ron: thank you for your email. I won't be online for the next few days, but I will definitely respond early next week.

All the best

Awzy -
You really do type some statements that show you haven't familiarized yourself with the people you are addressing. You say we don't consider the bible enough to crumple it up and throw it away. This blog community exists because most of us were very much engaged in our churches and faiths.

We cared enough to look more deeply - to find the man behind the curtain (think the Wizard of Oz).
I'd bet that most of us have a well-thumbed NIV with student annotations on our shelves. There is a reason that many biblical scholars are not christians, by evangelical definitions.

There is a saying: Peer not through the keyhole, lest ye be vexed.

When I was rebaptized at 30 I held myself accountable for what I would pronounce as truth - it is this accountability that led me to find how much of what I was told was NOT truth.
We are vexed, to some degree. You can read our frustration in our words - we get angry, like you do, because we are/were dissapointed.
This blog is about putting the past into a healthy context and living constructively in the light of truth - and enriching our families and communities in the process (if I can be permitted a description of Noell's work).
Until people know that it is okay to look behind the curtain - they will live in fear of devils and rapture horns and all of the other things identical to archetypes found in fairy tales. Mythology is an incredible subject! These ideas DO come from within us - and emerge independantly in seperate civilizations (there is a trinity and virgin birth motif in 7 of the 9 major world religions). The psychology (a slippery science) of this is incredibly interesting! It's not literal truth, though. Its a hardwired instinct to translate things anthropomorphically.
We see pictures in clouds. That doesn't make them anything but clouds, though.

I hope that your desire to change others becomes a means for your own growth.
Seize the day and follow your bliss!

Awzy, I don't think you grasp the concept of humanism. In your last statement, you said,"What you don’t understand is that it’s not about Heaven,or being saved and esspecially not my comfort. It’s about making this world a better place." So, I'm understanding you to believe that this world cannot be a better place without a belief in God. I have actually found the opposite to be true. Believe me, I have been in your position because I was raised in a fundamentalist Christian home. I would not even consider other points of view when I was younger. But, as I became more educated, I realized how judgmental I was as a Christian. I know that not every Christian is that way, but it seems that many are. I really hate the way I was as a Christian and believe I am a better person now. I know that this may fall on deaf ears, but I think you should look back at your posts and see them from fresh eyes. Do you think they reflect you well...as a good person who wants to make the world a better place?

The bible was written over time with the assistance of some very far out dudes who had nothing but time on their hands. Some portions are tales related to living their lives , other parts are extremely questionable . If you believe those are the words of an " omnipotent" GOD he surely comes across as anything but perfect and/or flawless in design.Just look at your body structure. There are so many imperfections. Even the catholic church noted recently that it is unlikely Genesis is true and any reasonable person would undoubtably consider it absurd along with a huge portion of old and new testament. Your committment is monkey see monkey do. It's safe, it's comfortable , and it's a lie that has been perpetuated for centuries on end,but if that keeps you from turning on others by all means continue to practice it. Not everyone is cut out for leadership. Some of us are not so creative and must follow, but that's not a bad thing at all.

This will be my last one I promise. Just so fran and her/your fans don't have to read more about my spirit(spirit meaning the love i have for everyone on earth). What you don't understand is that it's not about Heaven,or being saved and esspecially not my comfort. It's about making this world a better place. It's about complete unselfishness, compassion and a desire to change all sinful acts which you actually embrace. I don't expect you to understand suffering and still have infinite joy. You're the type of people that think missionaries are wasting their time. Jesus gave us the blueprint , which you won't aknowledge or even crumpled up and thrown away. There is a good book called "It's not about me" which i don't have to explain. God Bless You All and now you can get back to jerry springer .

Awzy , In order to understand secular humanism you have to be able to engage in deep rational thought and ask questions that relate to reasonableness. You are comfortable with hocus pocus because that is the intent of hocus pocus. ( It gives you all of the answers ) true or not. Supernatural Gods, spirits, and ghosts do all the work for you. With adequate compunction all you have to do is exclaim " I'm saved , I'm saved !!!!! No muss no fuss . Straight shot to manmade heaven. I think you fit well Awzy . You should never consider a change . Your comfort level has been achieved. GOOD LUCK

Thanks for finding the humour in my comment(s). My passion gets the better of me sometimes. I should know better than to get upset with non-believers. It's my way of saying that I don't understand how you people think that love came from the monkey-man. Oh well, I still have lots to learn. By the way you should all get some earplugs becuase I think it's better if you don't hear the trumpet and say"how could I be so blind".

There'll always be a passage to give em some wriggle room. Besides , God is there own creation. The one thing nice about worshiping a god that's pretend is that you get to make the decisions you think he would then justify them through the ghost of king soloman "If there wasnt a god believers would make one up"

Wow! That's hilarious. I wonder if christians ever realize that they are being un-christian like when they attack like that. It's actually sad.

I thought the one way mirror was rather clever.I have a problem with people wanting to please people who are thiests . Instead , thiests should be the ones trying to help us understand their brainwashed approach to fantasy , hocus pocus, and supernaturalism. Seldom are Christians or Muslims ever on the offense . They are always trying to defend a position that is established through nothingness." If there wasn't a GOD , Christians would simply " make one up " Signed, The Holy Spirit and Casper

Ron- Kevin from "Memoirs of an Ex-Christian" is an AgnosticMom reader (or at least he's been here once) and has commented. I recently went to his site and left a comment. Perhaps Awzy-Greg came found us here through his site. Or vice-versa.

Greg (Awzy) flames on other blogs as well.
Here's a link to one of his other "Shout Satan and run!" targets that may well be of interest to others here:
http://www.mexc.blogspot.com/

Its called Memoirs of an Ex-Christian.
He does book reviews and reflection on the difficulty of leaving one's faith in favor of a pursuit of empirical truth.

Aw, Noell - don't forget to advertise his blog!

The first stimulating installation has him begging God's forgiveness for being so irritated at pagans!

A fellow(?) called Dad1188 left this comment:
It apparently isn't only pagans that make you stumble around in un-christlike wrath. Isn't it true that you harass agnostics and humanists in a similar fashion?
If that is 'fighting the good fight' - you may wish to look into a more satisfying past time, say like - treating others as you would have them treat you.

Best of luck on this wonderful blog - I'll be happy to offer insight when the spirit moves me (and by spirit - I mean my brain).
