They have been very helpful and uplifting (regarding Trinity). The advice was great and the encouraging words and shared experiences were. . . encouraging. To tell you the truth, I didn’t think many of my readers would be coming back with all the long spaces between my posts lately!

Although I dreamt Trinity had a seizure last night, she has not had a third one yet. She panicked at the zoo last weekend, though, because she felt like she was about to. It was too hot and she finally burst into tears. Dramatic tears. So of course, we jumped to her rescue and got out of there.

With her type of seizures (Partial Complex) they typically have what is called an “aura” which they recognize as a signal before the seizure. So it’s hard to know if what she was feeling at the zoo was the warning aura, or if she just wasn’t well and it reminded her of the beginnings of that first seizure.

Moving onto other subjects, last week new license plates came in the mail. I left them unopened for my husband, as I figured they were his.

“They’re yours,” he told me. “Open them.”

“I didn’t know my plates were expiring. Why didn’t they just send me tags for my old plates?”

And then I noticed a funny look on my husband’s face. So I opened the package, pulled them out, and there were brand new personalized plates just for me with a nick-name a few of you have called me in the past.

Now on the back of my car, for everyone to see, are the capitlized letters, AGMOM.

How cool is that?

    I love it!
What an awesome gift and what an awesome husband!
I’m glad things are going well right now.

  2. AnneA:

Glad to see you back online and to hear that things are going ok with you and your family.

I LOVE the license plate! That’s great. I have a personalized license plate as well. I’ve actually had notes left on my car and had a woman wait for me to come to my car at the grocery store to tell me how much she liked it! Some people get it and some don’t. I drive a newer model Volvo (you know, the rounded style they came out with a few years ago). My license plate says NOTBOXY.

Like I said, not many people get it, but those who do love it!

  3. Ron:

    Nice!!

also think the ‘notboxy’ is keen (hope that doesn’t make it ‘not boxy but bad’)

  4. Terry S.:

I keep wanting to get a vanity plate with “IMAGOG” on it. Someday, maybe. Dreams can come true.

  5. Noell:

Oh, Terry, your “dream” made me laugh!!!! I am sorry you feel that this dream of a vanity plate is so lofty and scarcely reachable!!!!! Hee heee!!!!

  6. Terry S.:

I will prevail gosh willing. No mountain is too high.

What a cool surprise from your sweetie!!

I’ve been lurking on your blog for several months now and enjoy the posts, as well as the comments. Glad to read today’s update on Trinity. I enjoy the mix of “makes you think” posts -and- the bits of personal life posts. For me, the mix is what makes for a more interesting blog =)

I can imagine that the zoo in the Arizona heat would be overwhelming for lots of kids, not just for Trinity. It is probably very reassuring for her to know that she doesn’t have to stay somewhere when she isn’t up to it. This knowledge will help keep fears at bay. That’s pretty cool that your husband gives you gifts from out of the blue. Especially something about who “you” are, the identity you have chosen.

  9. Cassandra:

I haven’t visited in a while and I just read about Trinity. I’m sorry that she’s been having a rough time! But it sounds like your doctors are giving you great care and that things are going well right now.
I can understand everything you are going through. We have been through several EEGs, MRIs, CT Scans, blood tests, medications, and evalutaions with my oldest, Jesse. It’s so difficult to not know what’s going to happen next.

Anyway, just know that you’re not alone (and I know you do - you get a lot of support here).

LOVE the new plates!! Kudos to your husband!

  10. Karen:

Great plates - great man. And great news about Trinity.

  11. C. L. Hanson:

    What a sweetie!!!

  12. MomSquared:

    Soooo cool.

I love your tag line, healthy family without religion. I don’t understand why people think you need religion to be a healthy family anyway. I wish I could steal it, but I won’t.

  13. Mary:

Great news about Trinity and I love the vanity plates. Cool! What a sweet and thoughtful gift.

  14. Ed Darrell:

Well, I love ‘em — but don’t be surprised if you get overtures from the Texas A&M Mom’s group, “Aggie Moms.”

Ooooh, what will the in-laws say?

  15. Happy_Heretic:

Your Husband rocks!!! I wish my wife supported my atheism to that degree. Hmm… Atheistdad… err… nogodpop… no… hereticdad. I will have to work on it a bit.

As you know, science is the most consistantly accurate approach to addressing problems. Given your penchant for empirical pursuit, your daughters issues will recieve the most critical eye anyone could ask for. Good for her. That kind of support is, by far, the bet thing for her health and welfare.

    Best Wishes,

    HH

  16. Kris:

Blogger plates! I love it. What a sweet man.

It must be tough not knowing if or when another seizure is coming, for all of you. My thoughts continue to be with you.
