Hi Noell!

I'm glad to see all this interest in the book! Now I wish we'd put more in it than word scrambles and Sudokus...

A secular parenting discussion board will go online in the first week of February on the PBB website. Let me know if anyone has questions about the book that I can answer. - Dale

I just finished looking over the study guide from the site and I simply can't wait for the book to be published. Thanks for posting about it.

Hi Noell,

I read your post on HNN and then visited your blog. I don't have an email addy for you so I thought I'd write to you this way. I admire what you have planned for Darwin Day! Our local organization, the Humanist Society of Greater Phoenix, is planning our annual Darwin Day event on Feb. 11th. We will have dinner at a local fish restaurant (TBA -- check our website when we decide -- www.HSGP.org).

I can't tell from your blog if you live in the area or not, but if so, please join us! We are trying to appeal to more young humanists, agnostics and atheists in the area.

Best regards,
Susan Sackett
President, Humanist Society of Greater Phoenix

It looks very interesting! Last night, we were watching "Teen Stars-Where did they Go?" or something like that, and it showed Kirk Cameron, who is now an avid Christian. It showed a sample of a website that he is on, and it asks, "Are you a Christian? Choose yes or no."
My son (3 1/2) asked me what happens if you are a Christian? I didn't really know how to respond. He changed the subject right away, so I didn't respond (that's a 3 year old for you!).
It made me think-we haven't really decided to raise our children without religion, but we aren't religious, so I guess that is the natural outcome! I am interested to know how to address his questions. My family (parents, sister) are very religious, so he is bound to be exposed to it. I want him to be informed but not brainwashed.
The book is a great idea!
